During the morning our experts from Australia and Finland will provide you insights on the latest immigration trends and issues around the world, as well as interesting practical examples of today's challenges in immigration, compliance risks and how to tackle the most common pitfalls.

Session 1. Navigating the global immigration landscape – current trends and challenges, Julie Donnellan
The global immigration landscape has never been more challenging. Organisations with a mobile workforce must carefully navigate this dynamic environment to ensure the business needs are being met, employees and their families are compliant and safe and their organisation’s reputation is protected. Julie Donnellan, KPMG’s Global Immigration Network Leader will lead us through the most recent regulatory changes and address the current focus from authorities on compliance. She will also provide an insight into the latest thinking and trends within multinational in managing a mobile global workforce.
Session 2. Immigration from a practical point of view - tackling common challenges, Anna Kahra
Immigration regulations around the world are constantly changing, and requirements and processes vary from country to country. Are work permits really needed from day one? Can the assignment be considered a business trip? Can a co-habiting spouse accompany in the assignment? These are just some examples of practical immigration challenges organizations deal with on a daily basis. Anna Kahra, Immigration Manager at KPMG Finland will walk you through a selection of common immigration challenges with practical examples on how to tackle these.
Session 3. The Act on Posting Workers to Finland, Tiina Wallace
New reporting duty has come into effect in Finland, and from September 2017 onwards the posting undertaking is obliged to notify the Occupational Safety and Health Authority when posting workers to Finland. Tiina Wallace, our employment lawyer, will introduce you to this latest regulation change in Finland.
